Sandra Hernández
Photographer & visual storyteller · Fujifilm Official Ambassador
Sandra Hernández spent eighteen years as an architect before she picked up a camera. That background still shapes how she looks: not only in formal terms, but in the way she enters a place, reads its structures, and stays attentive to the tension between space and human presence.
She is drawn to the infra-ordinary, Georges Perec's name for the life we barely notice: the everyday gestures, routines and spaces that, looked at closely, carry everything that matters. Working across territory, memory and gender, she looks for the ways that space and people shape one another.
Her work has appeared in The Guardian, BBC Mundo and many other outlets. She contributes to Reuters and Bloomberg. She is a faculty member at Tecnológico de Monterrey, a Fujifilm Official Ambassador, a Pro Member of The Raw Society, a member of Women Photograph, and the founder of Observadores Urbanos, the leading Ibero-American street photography community.
Her photographs have been published and exhibited across Europe, Asia, the Americas and Oceania, in more than fifty solo and group exhibitions. She is also the editor of the Antología de Fotografía de Calle Mexicana, the first anthology of Mexican street photography.
